Family trees for your dynasties and lineages

Loreloom's family trees draw your universe's lineages: dynasties, noble houses, families, and masters and apprentices too. Each member can point to their Compendium article.

Building a tree

  • Several trees per universe, each with a name and a description.
  • Add an ancestor, a descendant or a member of the same generation, on a grid that keeps the tree tidy.
  • A member can be marked as deceased.
  • A view mode, separate from edit mode, to read the tree without moving things by accident.

Free-form links

A link between two members carries a role on each side. Pairs are suggested (father and son, husband and wife, brother and sister, adoptive parent and adoptee, mentor and apprentice…), but you can write your own. Each link has its own line style (solid, dashed or dotted) and colour, and a customisable legend explains the tree's conventions.

Linked to the Compendium

A member linked to an article shows that article's infobox in a side panel: portrait, titles and dates stay in one place, and the tree reads without changing pages.

A secret tree

A whole tree can be attached to contexts: it then only appears to authorised participants. Handy for a hidden bloodline or a parentage nobody should know about.

Limits

  • Secrecy applies to the whole tree, not to an individual link.
  • Trees can't be exported to PDF yet.
  • Only the universe's manager edits trees.
