Terms of use

These terms of use (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the Loreloom service (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you fully accept these Terms.

Purpose of the service

Loreloom is an online tool for writing and managing tabletop role-playing and fiction universes (Compendium, timeline, family trees, maps, character sheets, inventories, gameplay tools, etc.). It is a personal project offered free of charge.

Access and registration

Access to the Service is subject to the following conditions:

  • The Service is open to anyone who creates an account. Access to an existing universe is granted by invitation from one of its managers.
  • Creating an account requires a valid e-mail address and a password.
  • The Service is reserved for people aged at least 15. If you are under 15, you must first obtain the authorisation of a holder of parental authority.
  • You undertake to provide accurate information when registering.

Account and security

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity carried out from your account. In the event of unauthorised use or compromise, you must inform the publisher without delay. The publisher cannot be held liable for access resulting from negligence in safeguarding your credentials.

User content

You retain full ownership of the content you create on the Service (universes, articles, characters, maps, notes, images, etc.). The publisher claims no ownership rights over this content.

You grant the publisher only the technical, non-exclusive and free licence needed to host, store, display and back up your content for the sole purpose of providing the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are solely responsible for the content you publish and warrant that you hold the necessary rights to it (in particular for third-party images and texts).

In particular, it is prohibited to publish on the Service content that is:

  • unlawful, defamatory, insulting, hateful or inciting violence or discrimination;
  • infringing the rights of third parties (copyright, trademark, privacy, image);
  • child sexual abuse material or contrary to human dignity;
  • containing malware or intended to disrupt the operation of the Service.

Moderation, suspension and deletion

In the event of a breach of these Terms, the publisher reserves the right to suspend or delete, without notice, any manifestly unlawful content or any account concerned. You may delete your content or request the deletion of your account at any time, resulting in the erasure of your personal data under the conditions set out in the privacy policy.

Availability and warranties

The Service is provided “as is”, without any warranty of availability, freedom from error or fitness for a particular purpose. The publisher strives to ensure continuity of the Service and data backup but may interrupt, modify or discontinue it, in particular for maintenance or technical reasons. It is your responsibility to keep your own copies of your important content.

Intellectual property of the service

The “Loreloom” name, its logo, interface and code remain the property of the publisher. These Terms grant you no rights over these elements, other than the right to use the Service in accordance with its intended purpose.

Personal data

The processing of your personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. Privacy

Liability

The publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damages, nor for any loss of data, loss of profit or business interruption resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the Service. You use the Service at your own risk.

Changes to the Terms

The publisher may amend these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication on this page. By continuing to use the Service after a change, you are deemed to accept it.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought as a priority before any legal action.
